Fashion Magic
Free People never fails to bring bohemian magic into everyday life. The long flowing layers, skirts, dresses, natural materials. These all feel so magical, fairytale-like, princess like. The description on the Free People website even discusses letting out your inner princess. That is one of the aspects that strengthens my deep love for fashion; the idea that just by what you are wearing you can be taken to another time, another place, be anything or anyone you want.
When I was younger I would always play "dress up" as do most little girls; with costumes and crazy hair and mom's red lipstick and blue eyeshadow. I love that I can still play "dress up" and play pretend, but in a much more sophisticated way.

Review: Rachel Zoe S/S 2012 Ready to Wear
Rachel Zoe has been one of idols since I don't know when. I have always loved her fantastic, signature sense of style. I bought her book and have read it, re-read it and loved it. When she presented her fall collection in the spring, presenting herself as a designer, I was thrilled.
Keeping up with her reality show The Rachel Zoe Project http://www.bravotv.com/the-rachel-zoe-project/season-4/videos/the-world-of-pregnancy, shows all the steps of launching her first collection. After this was so successful I couldn't wait to see her Spring/Summer Ready to Wear Collection. Here are some of my favorites:

Rachel's touch is evident in every single one of her pieces. Each piece has a luxe, yet bohemian feel. Everything is perfectly polished and completely wearable.

Free People
One of my favorite brands has been Free People. When I found out that Free People, Anthropoligie, and Urban Outfitters were sister stores, stemming from the same original company I was thrilled. I love all three labels and while they present different lifestyles, they have a similar aesthetic.
I have been watching religiously all of the YouTube videos they put online. Their look speaks for itself: a lifestyle of the beautifully bohemian. Free People girls love nature, are resourceful, but look gorgeous at the same time. When I look at their ads and clothes, I want to be those girls. Their clothes have a luxurious feel, but they look effortless.
The September catalog does not disappoint. The collection is filled with plaid, lace, polka dots, and sweaters to fill your closets. Plenty of inspiration for this season! While I can't afford most of the clothes, I love altering my own clothes to mimic their bohemian style, or find looks for less. Either way I can spend hours looking at their website to let my mind wander and my creativity flow. Here are some of my favorites:

Fashion Week
As you all know, this week is none other than fashion week. While I can't be in New York for any of the shows, I still have http://www.youtube.com/user/liverunway to keep up to date on all the new trends for spring. It is always a strange feeling when entering a new season and getting excited for all the new clothes to wear, we are faced with all new shows for next season. Regardless, being as fashion-obsessed as I am, I love seeing any new inspiration and clothes to keep me excited throughout all four seasons.
What I've been loving from Spring 2012:
Nudes
Nudes have been popular the last few seasons, and they are here to stay. Nude on nude, is a little more warm than white on white, and showing a growing sophistication. They look more polished paired with pastel patterned pieces. The nude trend is also crossing over into makeup. A more natural face is appearing all over the runways, nude lips, dewy faces, and light on the eyeshadow. Natural beauty is shining through.
Printed Pants
The last time I really wore printed pants was elementary school. I have to admit though, they are getting me inspired now! From Japanese floral prints, to wild abstract ones, these can be surprisingly versatile. I would love to pair them with a soft t-shirt in the same color scheme, with a neutral blazer and sky high heels.
60's Inspired Dresses
I have noticed I lot of 60's silhouettes. The A-line dress especially. While these aren't the most flattering, they just scream modern and of-the-moment. These dresses, when patterned are really the focus of the outfit and need not much more than cute chunky heels and maybe some bangles. When a solid color, the possibilities are endless! Layers can transform a cute day look (with jeweled sandals round sunglasses and a long vest) into a night look (with a light jacket/sweater, thin silk scarf, and tights). I can't help but be reminded of Twiggy..with longer hair.
